To apply for financial aid students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
It is strongly recommended that you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to transfer data from your federal income tax returns to your FAFSA. This will save you time in completing the FAFSA and reduce the possibility of data entry mistakes on the FAFSA.
The College's six-digit federal school code is 032343.
Applying for financial aid is free when you use the FAFSA on the web site. You do not have to pay anyone to complete the FAFSA on your behalf or to have questions answered that you might have. Help is available online or by contacting the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 800-4-FED-AID (800-433-3243).
We recommend that you apply online because it is the fastest, most accurate and easiest way to apply for aid.
*Please note that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is changing beginning with the 2017-2018 award year.
Most importantly, the 2017-2018 FAFSA will be available three months earlier than in past years. This means students will be able to complete their 2017-2018 FAFSA on October 1, 2016 for the 2017-2018 award year. This is a change from the traditional January 1st begin date.
Another big change for students is that they will no longer have to use estimated tax information in order to complete their FAFSA. Starting with the 2017-2018 FAFSA, income information will be based on what is referred to as “prior-prior” year income. For students and their families this means they will be using 2015 income tax information that is already available to them.
