Login: Email Username and Password

All students are given an '' account when they matriculate or take a course. This account becomes the official communication channel between you and Charter Oak State College faculty and staff.

Students, who choose to have their emails auto-forwarded to private (unofficial) email addresses, do so at their own risk. The college/university is not responsible for any difficulties that may occur in the transmission of the emails. See entire "Electronic Communication Policy"

How do I change my ACORN password?
If you do not have a Charter Oak Email account, you may change you password by clicking on Personal Info at the top of the window.   From here you can click on the tab labeled password.

I cannot log into email. How do I get my password reset? Please contact the Support Center at 860.515.3710 or access the online system at

How do I change my email password?
You can change your email password at anytime by logging into email and clicking gear icon in the upper right corner of the window. Then type pass in the Settings box.  Click the link for Change Password  You will then see the window for changing password.

We recommend changing your password every 120 days.  Also create a password a minimum of 8 characters, with at least 1 number, 1 special character and 1 uppercase letter.

Charter Oak State College participates in a collaborative Support Center between a number of other colleges and universities. The Support Center is administered by the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium (CTDLC). The Support Center hours (EST) are:

  • 8am-10pm Monday - Thursday
  • 8am-8pm Friday
  • 8am-5pm Saturday
  • 10am-8pm Sunday

The Support Center can help you with the following:

  • Blackboard - logging into (including password resets) and using the system
  • Webmail - logging into (including password resets) and the basics of using the system
  • ACORN - They will be able to assist you with logging in any problems will be escalated to our application support personnel for resolution during normal Charter Oak State College business hours.
